{"id":14285,"date":"2024-12-09T13:16:57","date_gmt":"2024-12-09T12:16:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hifmb.de\/forschung\/arbeitsgruppen\/photosymbiosis\/"},"modified":"2026-01-19T09:39:28","modified_gmt":"2026-01-19T08:39:28","slug":"photosymbiose","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hifmb.de\/de\/forschung\/arbeitsgruppen\/photosymbiose\/","title":{"rendered":"Photosymbiose"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-theme-spacer  height-xxs\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Photosymbiosen sind insbesondere in oligotrophen, also n\u00e4hrstoffarmen, marinen Lebensr\u00e4umen weit verbreitet und ein wichtiger Bestandteil globaler N\u00e4hrstoffkreisl\u00e4ufe. Dabei handelt es sich um eine besondere Partnerschaft zwischen zwei Organismen, bei der einer der Partner, der photosynthetische Endosymbiont, Sonnenlicht nutzt, um Energie zu erzeugen. Der andere Partner, der heterotrophe Wirt, ist darauf angewiesen, sich von anderen Organismen oder organischen Stoffen zu ern\u00e4hren, da er selbst keine Photosynthese betreiben kann. Im Verlauf der Evolution haben sich diese Symbiosen unabh\u00e4ngig voneinander mehrfach entwickelt. Doch die rapiden Umweltver\u00e4nderungen des Anthropoz\u00e4ns destabilisieren nun diese Symbiosen und gef\u00e4hrden somit ihre wichtige Rolle in unseren Ozeanen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In der neu gegr\u00fcndeten&nbsp;Fokusgruppe Photosymbiose&nbsp;ist es unser Ziel, die <strong>Mechanismen hinter dem evolution\u00e4ren Erfolg und dem aktuellen \u00f6kologischen Zusammenbruch von Photosymbiosen zu entschl\u00fcsseln<\/strong>. Wir nutzen modernste Mikroskopie- und Omics-Technologien, um die Prozesse zu untersuchen, die an der Entwicklung, Aufrechterhaltung und dem Zusammenbruch dieser komplexen Beziehungen beteiligt sind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unsere Forschung konzentriert sich dabei auf drei miteinander verkn\u00fcpfte Bereiche:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1) <strong>Charakterisierung der metabolischen Kontrolle symbiotischer Interaktionen<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Wettbewerb um Ressourcen zwischen Wirt und Symbiont k\u00f6nnte der Schl\u00fcssel zur Stabilisierung des effizienten Recyclings von N\u00e4hrstoffen innerhalb der Symbiose sein. Die Entstehung mutualistischer Interaktionen k\u00f6nnte daher eine emergente Eigenschaft symbiotischer Verbindungen in n\u00e4hrstoffarmen Umgebungen sein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2) Entschl\u00fcsselung des Zusammenspiels von Photosynthese und der Immunit\u00e4t des Wirts<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Freisetzung photosynthetischer N\u00e4hrstoffe k\u00f6nnte es Algen erm\u00f6glichen, innerhalb des Wirts zu \u00fcberleben, indem sie aktive Verdauungsprozesse nachahmen. Das Verst\u00e4ndnis dieser Verbindung zwischen Photosynthese und der Stabilit\u00e4t von Symbiosen k\u00f6nnte Einblicke in die wiederholte Evolution von Photosymbiosen und ihre Anf\u00e4lligkeit gegen\u00fcber Klimawandel liefern, wie beispielsweise bei der Korallenbleiche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3) <strong>Verstehen der Triebkr\u00e4fte der Koevolution hin zu obligaten symbiotischen Interaktionen<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Die inh\u00e4rente Instabilit\u00e4t von Photosymbiosen k\u00f6nnte ihre Entwicklung hin zu obligaten Verbindungen in variablen Umgebungen beg\u00fcnstigen. Die Untersuchung der \u00f6kologischen Kompromisse zwischen fakultativen und obligaten metabolischen Interaktionen k\u00f6nnte helfen, grundlegende Prozesse zu verstehen, die die Entstehung von
