Die Forschungsgruppe Mathematische Modellierung arbeitet an der theoretischen Beschreibung komplexer lebender Systeme an der Schnittstelle von theoretischer \u00d6kologie und angewandter Mathematik.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mit modernen Werkzeugen aus der statistischen Physik, den komplexen Netzwerken, der Theorie dynamischer Systeme und der Datenwissenschaft zielt sie darauf ab, grundlegende Einsichten in die Organisation lebender Systeme zu gewinnen, besch\u00e4ftigt sich aber auch mit der Anwendung solcher Konzepte auf spezifische biologische Systeme und konkrete Anwendungen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wichtige Forschungsaktivit\u00e4ten sind f\u00fcr alle drei HIFMB-Forschungsbereiche relevant und umfassen so unterschiedliche Bereiche wie Populationsdynamik und Arteninteraktionen in r\u00e4umlich ausgedehnten Umgebungen, Biodiversit\u00e4t, Bioinvasion und epidemische Ausbreitung, Evolution und Anpassung, Tiernavigation und Suchstrategien, Urspr\u00fcnge des Lebens, Mikrobiologie und marine Biogeochemie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
