Research Interests

As a microbial ecologist and bioinformatician, I am interested in exploring the interplay among microbial communities in relation to their environment. My research uses a combination of physiological and sequencing data. Having come from bacterial and archaeal communities, I am now focusing on algae and their resilience towards temperature and light conditions in the Arctic.

Project within the HIPP cohort (call 2024)

I am studying the resilience of polar and temperate phytoplankton to the Arctic seasons. To find out more about the strategies different phytoplankton species are using to deal with the conditions, I am combining growth experiments and physiological measurements with gene expression profiles.
