Responsibilities

As part of a team co-developing an eDNA-based biodiversity monitoring in offshore wind farms in collaboration with industry stakeholders, I am responsible for the field work and data analysis.

Postdoctoral Researcher, Helmholtz Institute for Functional Marine Biodiversity at the University of Oldenburg, HIFMB

2021 – 2025

Doctoral Researcher, University of Bremen and Alfred-Wegener-Institut, Helmholtz Institute for Polar and Marine Research, Bremerhaven

2018 – 2021

M.Sc. Ecology, University of Bremen

2016 – 2021

B.Sc. Biology, University of Bremen

2003 – 2010

Medical Studies and German Medical Licence (Approbation), Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Halle (Saale)

Research Interests

I am very interested in the use of molecular methods to study the composition and dynamics of ecological communities. After a period in fundamental research investigating the cellular mechanisms shaping phytoplankton–bacteria interactions, I am now focusing on a more applied approach using eDNA to monitor faunal biodiversity.
