Research Interests

I´m interested in the links between human activities, multiple stressors, ecosystem components and and management actions. To understand these links and to get an idea of the magnitude of the impact on ecosystem components by considering not only the effects of single stressors but also of combined effects will help to develop effective management actions. In this context I like the ecosystem-based approach, because of its holistic view and its integration of humans and ecosystem services in the development process. I enjoy to analyze and to solve problems by evaluating issues from multiple perspectives and therefore I like the idea of Real-World Laboratories, where stakeholders and scientists can learn from each other and make a real change to improve the ecological status of our seas.
