Research Interests

I am a bioinformatician and microbial ecologist. I enjoy tailoring computational methods to explore the diversity and dynamics of microbes. My current focus is on those that live in the ocean.”

Project within the HIPP cohort (call 2024)

I am studying year-round microbial succession through sequencing data collected during The Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC) expedition. The Arctic surface ocean, shifting from winters of complete darkness to summers under an unsetting sun, offers a natural experiment on microbial adaptation. Through the lens of metagenomics, I investigate the compositional and metabolic tuning of Arctic microbiomes across seasons and depths, and explore how evolutionary diversification among microbial lineages gives rise to these ecological patterns.
