The focus of our research group Eco-evolutionary Genomics is to understand how planktonic species and populations survive in the species x species x environment context and evolve resilience strategies to scope with the natural fast changes of environmental stressors.

How much will the global change impact the coexistence of species when cellular resources have to be reallocated? Genomic approaches allow us to elucidate the induced changes but also the adaptation strategies of cellular and metabolic processes at the organismal and community (metatranscriptomic) level. Furthermore, such detailed genomic analyses of the functional process allow a new, more precise definition of functional biodiversity.
