Transfer at HIFMB

Transfer for us is the dynamic and mutual process of exchanging, transferring, and jointly using knowledge, experiences, and ideas between science, politics, conservation authorities, and society. The aim of transfer at HIFMB is to translate scientific knowledge and facilitate concrete, evidence-based decisions and sustainable actions that promote the protection and sustainable use of marine biodiversity.

In our context, transfer means:

  1. Dialogue-oriented: A continuous dialogue between all stakeholders, based on mutual understanding and openness.
  2. Transformative: The transfer process contributes to sustainable changes in policies, practices, and societal norms.
  3. Inclusive: All relevant actors and perspectives are involved in the process to develop comprehensive and accepted solutions.

Transfer requires adequate resources and a (new) reward & recognition system that values and promotes the contributions. Through transfer, we strengthen connectivity, trust, and shared responsibility to achieve positive changes in marine conservation and sustainable development.
