Wanted: Student assistant (HiWi) to design and implement an innovative web platform for the virtual research group “Southern Ocean Conservation and Governance”.
The Helmholtz Institute for Functional Marine Biodiversity (HIFMB) at the University of Oldenburg is looking for a student assistant (HiWi), preferably at Master level, to develop a website for an interdisciplinary research group focusing on the Southern Ocean. Scientists of our research group come from different disciplines (social sciences, natural sciences, artists) and plan to jointly form a virtual research group: the Southern Ocean Conservation and Governance group. Developing an innovative and inviting web presence is therefore our first priority to display and communicate our objectives, collaborations and outputs to students and peers.
We are looking for a creative student with interest in designing and creating a web platform to communicate our work to the world. The design process will initially entail regular meetings with the group to interactively develop graphics and the overall design of the webpage. Ideally, the candidate would guide the process from design to final implementation and launch of the group’s webpage.
Time frame: estimated two months, with possibility to extend, starting March/April 2025
Working hours: flexible (upon agreement), required to attend regular group meetings in Oldenburg (HIFMB) and online
Interested students please contact us until February 20th, 2025 through e-mail:
